What PassPath NZ is
PassPath NZ is a study and planning companion for the New Zealand learner licence theory test and the road to a full licence. It is independent: it is not an official test and is not run by or connected to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi or any other official body. Rules, fees and dates change — always check the official sources before you book or pay.
Important notice
PassPath NZ provides education and information about getting a driver licence in New Zealand. It is not connected to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) or any other official body. The information is general guidance, not official or legal advice. Requirements and procedures change: before any important step, check with NZTA. Official information always takes priority. In short: PassPath NZ guides you; the official bodies set the rules and requirements.
Our questions
Every question and explanation is written by us from New Zealand law — mainly the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004, the Land Transport Act 1998 and the Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Rule 1999. They are not copied from the official question bank or the Road Code. You may use them for your own study; please do not copy, publish or resell them.
Sources and credits
Our sources are New Zealand laws and rules as published on legislation.govt.nz. The official Road Code is published by NZTA under a non-commercial licence, so we do not reproduce it — we recommend reading it alongside this app. Road sign images come from Wikimedia Commons; NZTA allows its sign files to be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons contributors; their names and licences are listed in the app under Help.
Subscriptions
PassPath NZ is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (weekly, monthly or every 3 months). New subscribers may get a lower price for the first period; after that the standard price shown in the store applies. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage and cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. Each country in PassPath is a separate subscription.
Community
If you post in Community you agree to the Community rules. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users: we remove posts and suspend accounts that break the rules.
Accuracy and responsibility
PassPath NZ is a study aid. It is not legal advice and not an official source. We write it from New Zealand law and review it regularly, but we cannot guarantee that every question, fee, date or figure is complete, correct or up to date. Always check with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi before you book, pay or act. You are responsible for how you drive and for meeting every legal requirement.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss caused by errors or omissions — for example a missed appointment or a test you have to rebook — and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for PassPath NZ in the 12 months before your claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or other consumer law that cannot be excluded.
If you find a mistake, please tell us using the contact below and we will correct it.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, where PassPath NZ is made, without taking away the protection of New Zealand consumer law. Questions: karakusufuk@gmail.com. On iPhone, Apple's standard licence agreement (EULA) also applies.
